  Let's go visit the wind tunnel and test out our airfoils, shall we? There, we can see the effects of speed and coefficient of lift on an imaginary wing.

You can put a wing with either a symmetrical or asymmetrical airfoil shape inside the wind tunnel, and then turn the wind on to any speed you like. This is the same as flying that airfoil through the air at that speed. See what happens to lift and drag when you change the airfoil or the speed.
