Three Stages of Airplane Design

That's where statistics comes in, during the evaluation stage. Statistics is the science of collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. If I fly each airplane prototype more than once, I'll have more data on how far each plane can go. Then, I can compare this data with the original goals for this design and send it back to the design stage for adjustment.
