Measuring Thrust

	Because speed depends on the power of an engine, engines are usually measured by their thrust power. This is the same thrust you learned about in Forces of Flight, although you're probably used to seeing it in front of the plane. Like other forces, thrust is measured in pounds. All engines have a takeoff thrust and a cruise thrust.
