How to find the average chord width
Because tapered wings have different chord widths, we use the average chord width to find the aspect ratio. Finding the average chord width is the same as multiplying 1/2 x base1 + base2 which is the same as averaging base 1 and base2. We didn't have to do this with the rectangular wing because the chord doesn't change.
